A Secret Ingredient to Soothing Arthritis

Did you know there’s a secret ingredient to soothing arthritis the body lacks? Did you know that every diagnosis of arthritis comes with the fact the joint is dehydrated? Wouldn’t it make sense the simple solution would be to drink more water?

Yes, that’s correct!

Which is why your knees are sore, achy and painful. They’ve been dry for some time and wearing because they are not lubricated enough (aka dried out). Your body needs enough water in order to keep your joints lubricate and moving smoothly in relation to each other.

What the Professionals Are Saying About Arthritis

Take a moment and think of all the people you know that have told you they have arthritis! As a matter of fact, the Center for Disease Control states that 52.5 million adult Americans that’s 1 out of 5 and by 80 years of age 1 out of 2 will be diagnosed with arthritis.

Even the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons website says:

“Osteoarthritis,” is also known as “wear and tear” arthritis, is a progressive disease of the joints.

With osteoarthritis, the articular cartilage that covers the ends of bones in the joints gradually wears away. Where there was once smooth articular cartilage that made the bones move easily against each other when the joint bent and straightened, there is now a frayed, rough surface. Joint motion along this exposed surface is painful.

Osteoarthritis usually develops after many years of use. It affects people who are middle-aged or older. Other risk factors for osteoarthritis include obesity, previous injury to the affected joint, and family history of osteoarthritis.”

Rehydrating the Knee Joint is a 3 Step Process

Rehydrating the body and getting water in the joint to heal the knee or any other joint for that matter is a little more complicated than that. I’ll explain…

  • First, the conditions must be setup in the body for the knee joint to begin to rehydrate which includes proper hydration and structural balance
  • Second the knee joint has to be relaxed in order for the joint to absorb the water being ingested. The best place to start with this is working with my “Knee Club Quick Start Guide”
  • Third, the proper type of water has to be incorporated on a regular basis so the body has enough of it to allocate to the knee.

Secret Ingredient for Soothing Arthritis

Here’s a recipe for the Original Gatorade I received from my friend Dr. Steve Boutin (Boutin Chiropractic) in Louisville, Kentucky. As I remember him explain it to me this was a recipe developed by the University of Florida for their sports teams until it was grabbed up by corporations.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Big pitcher (at least 1 gallon)
  • Wooden spoon for stirring
  • 1 Tablespoon

Recipe/Ingredients:

Pour a quart of water into the pitcher and add the Sea Salt and squeezed lemon. Mix this up first as it’s easier to do without mixing a full pitcher of water. When these ingredients are mixed up then add in the rest of the distilled water.

Strategy for Original Gatorade Daily Use

What I like most about this recipe is I can make it myself anytime and know there is no dye or artificial colors or flavors

Drink at least 1 glass a day and consider this part of your daily intake of water to hydrate your body.

Some clients have reported that 1 full tablespoon of Celtic Sea Salt is too strong of a taste and have backed it down to 1/2 tablespoon and found it more palatable.

Other Factors to Consider

When you mix up the recipe. Make sure to store it in the refrigerator as I experienced some mold growing on the top of the pitcher and a funny taste after sitting out for a few days.

What I’ve noticed is

This is great to add into your daily routine when either is happening when you drink water:

  1. You have difficulty drinking water
  2. You don’t have a “taste” for water
  3. You find yourself running to the bathroom every “5 minutes” after you drink water

You see if you have difficulty drinking water, your body recognizes that drinking more water will continue to flush out the already depleted amount of minerals it has putting it at more risk. The same mechanism is at play if you don’t have a “taste” for water.

There is a certain amount of sodium (mineral) needed for your body to transfer water from outside of the cells to inside the cells and clean them out. When you’re deficient in the mineral sodium than the water you drink passes right through your system straight to your kidneys and bladder. Incorporating “The Original Gator-Aid” in

The above 3 signs are a good indicator that your body is mineral deficient and you’d want to incorporate “The Original Gator-Aid” into your knee pain elimination routine for awhile until the above issues begin to subside.

There are a few more things to keep in mind when setting up the conditions so your body can heal your arthritis.

It has on couple occasions swollen up due to over working it.. I have recently injured my siactic nerve and been diagnosed with tendinitis from over working myself on my job. Now my knee is getting worse again due to trying not to injure my back further. With the Gator-Aid does it matter what what kind of sea salt is used? Is there anything else I… Read more »

Bill I am 40 years old, 6’4″, 280-290lbs, very active, and enjoy pushing my body to its limits. When I was 18 years old I was the recipient of a lower leg take down while participating in an underground fight club. This take down resulted in a complete tear of the ACL, PCL, MCL, LCL, and meniscus damage. This lead me to having a total right knee reconstruction where cadaver ligaments where used in the rebuild along with stainless steel hardware like screws, hooks, and the such. I am now 40 and have stage 4 OA. I have seen multiple… Read more »
