The older generation today scoffs at “participation trophies”
Many people now-a-days want to pull competition out of the equation in schools so no child feels sad because they didn’t come in first…
Everyone is supposed to get a ‘participation trophy’ so they don’t feel left out.
That same older generation will puff their chest and tell stories of how hard they worked
and
no one gave them anything!
If they came in third or got a “D” in class then that’s what they deserved!
Little does this older generation know hundreds of thousands of “Life Participation Trophies” being handed out each year by orthopedic surgeons.
These little “Life Participation Trophies” they don’t even have to work for, just show up…
Yep, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons website states in 2011, 676,000 knee replacement surgeries are done in the U.S. alone every year with that trend expected to rise.
So If you’re NOT into “Life Participation Trophies” and are into keeping your original knee joints.
