I got femur surgery 3 years back and metal rod has been placed inside my leg, now I’m unable to bend 50% at least. could you please tell me what all consequences to face to bend the knee??
Hi
If you don’t start getting the knee to bend you continue to lose range of motion and strength in the knee. The big piece is to begin changing the neurological signaling in the knee to get the leg to relax and increase the range of motion without pain.

Interesting video Bill. I’m suffering from lack of range after ACL reconstruction. Whet do think about the possibility of the new ACL being the problem with lack of range? For example, if it is too short, or not “installed” at the right angle?
Hi Tom
“Structure Govern Function.” I’d consider the new ACL being too short or “installed” incorrectly as a possibility only after making sure the bones in the knee/leg were freed up and functioning well first.
I struggled with ROM in my left knee until I got my femur/hip in correct alignment. Then full ROM in the knee was easy…

Good Information Bill, I have a friend who had knee replacement and never felt good again. She has scar tissue removed every year. Made me think twice about knee replacement.
Maria
Yes that is a very brutal surgery…

Super helpful Bill!
I especially benefited from your focusing on the patterns of the the lower back and hips up to the neck.
After 2.5 yrs of recovery from a shattered patella my traumatic repatterining is causing me daily back pain.
I think my body is avoiding using the knee due to weakness, metal rubbing on soft tissue and trauma.
I’m considering getting all the hardware out.
Any recommendations about that, Bill?
Thank you,
Aimée
