Most people stuck in knee pain don’t think about developing a knee pain elimination strategy…
Hell, most doctors and physical therapists don’t even think of developing a knee pain elimination strategy let alone talk about difference between context and content.
But here we are and here we go!
Let’s first talk about a few definitions so we get on the same page and can move forward together.
First, let’s talk about a goal and by definition a Goal: the result or achievement toward which effort is directed; aim; end.
Next we’ll talk about Context which is the interrelated conditions in which something exists or occurs: ENVIRONMENT, SETTING
and finally, we need to address what content is. Content is everything that is contained within something:
Before we get into the nitty-gritty of talking about knee pain. Let’s use an example like learning to swim…
What is the Goal? Learning to swim
What is the Context? Meaning what is the environment, the setting you have created in your life to relieve the pain in your knee?
How about the content? What is contained in your environment to relieve the pain in your knee? What training do you possess? Knowledge or coaching that supports the relief of knee pain?
Most people who continue to suffer from knee pain have neither context or content to eliminate the pain in their knee…
Maybe some tylenol, advil or nuprin…
What is the context? Doctor’s or physical therapy office
Content: Prescription drugs – numb pain
Pain killing shots – numb pain
Surgery – Maybe make the pain go away
Physical therapy – causes pain
They are looking for and exercise to relieve the pain in their knee
Or a tip, trick, suggestion or advice on how they might alleviate the pain for a short period of time…
Most of the time, chronic knee pain sufferers are at the whim of how their knee feels from day to day…
They have a good day when the knee feels good
And
Have a bad day when the knee feels bad, achy, tight or sore…
With little or no connection to anything they ate, drank, ignored, or pushed through in their life the day(s) before the knee pain got worse…
But few of them if any possess a solid strategy which will NOT only setup the conditions but also have the actual how to action steps to eliminate the pain if/when it comes back
It’s a vicious cycle of pain leaving those suffering in pain feeling like a victim to everything that happens with no personal sovereignty or empowerment in sight.
But does life really have to be this way?
Must someone suffering with knee continue to be a bounced like a pinball through life wishing and hoping their knee won’t hurt if they exercise or push their knee in any way?
Do they have to suck it up after being told “You’re a perfect candidate for knee replacement” until they are “old enough” to have the bones in their legs sawed off and replaced with plastic and metal?
Is a knee replacement surgery an inevitable outcome once diagnosed with arthritis and bone on bone?
Will a knee injury or surgery earlier in life ultimately result in a osteoarthritis as you get older?
I don’t believe so if the proper context and content is setup to eliminate knee pain…
