Who Am I?
This blog is designed to help those with Knee Pain first learn to understand, address, and then rid their body of Knee Pain if and when the conventional routes of prescription drugs, physical therapy, or surgery are not working.
Just to give you a brief background. In 1998, I was 29 years old, and I dislocated my left knee the first of four times over the next 6 months. During that process I tore the ligament in my left knee and had to have reconstructive ACL surgery in order to function “normally.” Physical therapy and rehabilitation lasted for 2 months after the surgery. Dr. John Ellis, a doctor for the University of Louisville sports teams, who did the surgery, gave me a green light to start activities again, specifically the martial art Judo, my first love.
Even after physical therapy, my left knee consistently felt weak so I found myself staying off of it, and favoring my other leg. As a result, I noticed other body parts had started over-compensating to take up the slack. It caused a ripple effect of strain that went up into my hips, lower back, shoulders, neck, and down into my shin and ankle.
It didn’t make sense to me why after surgery and physical therapy was I still in pain. Wasn’t surgery supposed to “fix” my problem? Dr. Ellis said that what I was feeling was common, and only a very small percentage of people that have knee surgeries actually fully recover. Could that be right?
With this experience, I understand how painful injured knees can be. This experience set me on a different path in life where I learned many different ways of addressing & healing my knee pain.
That was 9 years ago and now I want to begin to share the knowledge and experience I have gained on eliminating my knee pain with others in the hopes that it will improve if not rid their body of Knee Pain as well.
Keep an eye on this blog as I will be distributing articles, videos, and case studies of clients that I work with to show their drastic improvements with eliminating knee pain.
Today, my knee is no longer painful, sore, stiff, tight, or uncomfortable. As a matter of fact, it has been years since I remember feeling any of that. I hope this information can shorten the process and improve the quality of your life when faced with similar knee pain challenges.
